Irish Argentine Festival



This July, Tallaght County Library is hosting Irish Argentine Festival that celebrates the Irish diaspora of Argentina in the 18th-20th centuries and their impact on Argentine society.

July 5th, 7pm: The opening of the Festival will be conducted by South Dublin County Mayor Cathal King, and representing the Argentinian Embassy, Deputy Head of Mission Minister Diego Sadofschi. This will be followed by a Tango Performance by Kristina and Julian from Tango Fiesta Dublin and a selection of nibbles!

July 11th, 6.30pm: A talk by Author Tim Fanning entitled, “Tracing the roots of Irish emigration to Argentina. From the discovery of the Americas to the Great Famine.”

July 20, 3pm: A Children’s quilling craft class event with Joan Connolly that celebrates Argentina’s love of Horses!

July 27th, 6.30pm: Argentine Film Night:  “The Motorcycle Diaries”.
